Day8

One week down, a little over three to go!

Another night of interrupted sleep, another whopper of a headache this morning. Had to bring Maisie to the vet for a shot, which always brings on some anxiety for everybody involved, so breakfast was postponed until 10:00. All of this plus the kids whining and being extra needy makes me feel "hangry" (hungry and angry). Definitely just blew up at Olivia after she asked me for the eighth time if she could have another fruit pouch, and for the eighth time I said no then yelled at her to go to her room to play and stop asking. She is crying to Collin about how she doesn't want Mommy to yell at her anymore. :( I hope this eating plan isn't turning me into someone mean and crazy. Not sure if I can make it three more weeks like this, not to mention all the animal protein is probably not the best for my kidneys. My stomach is not feeling any better either. What if I'm doing more harm than good?

Breakfast - 3-egg omelet with ham and mushrooms; 16oz. water (meds and 8oz. water at 8:30)

Feeling awful today :(

Lunch at 1:30 - 1/3 grilled pork tenderloin, half an avocado, handful of grapes, large bowl bone broth

Cheeks flushed, major headache, and 16oz. water at 2:30. Have not taken supps or medicine to help headache yet.

Appointment with Dr. Adler, nephrologist. Because of doing a LOD and following the tips from the Trying Low Oxalates group, my oxalate level went down from 101 to 27 in just three months. Urine PH, which I know varies anyway, went down from 7.3 to 6.3. To say my nephrologist was impressed is an understatement. He said to keep doing what I'm doing and see him back in a year for kidney ultrasound, bloodwork, and 24-hour urine to monitor kidney function. I feel like I am on the right track to getting better finally! At least something I'm doing is working in the right direction. :) So now my main concerns at this point are fixing the nighttime peeing, the headaches, the cysts, and my back. Kidneys are good to go!

Snack and supps and Tylenol at 4:15 - 12oz. water, one cup unsweetened applesauce, one sliced cucumber with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

Dinner at 6:30 - ground pork sauteed with mushrooms, scallions, mint leaves, fish sauce, coconut aminos, and lime juice served in Romaine lettuce cups (um, delicious!) with a side of green beans (only 1/4 cup...high ox veg, but in light of my recent test results, I decided to splurge) and 8oz. water

I'm feeling better now. Maybe it was just hunger pains? Dehydration? Lack of sleep? Can't explain the bright red cheeks, though (but they are gone). Headache is still there but only a dull ache.
